The Extras

Image

I attached a piece of heavy angle iron with a socket welded to it to one of the legs of my forge.  This gave me a convenient place to drop the leg of a post vice into.  As you may recall, I allowed about 7 inches of extra width to accommodate a little bench space.  This is an invaluable addition.

Another piece of heavy angle iron and a length of threaded rod bent to shape complete the mount for the post vice.  This is a small, 3" vice, just perfect for the small forge it is mounted to.

A few pieces of heavy sheet metal stuck between the firebrick and the wood provide a convenient lip to keep the coal on top of the forge and off the ground.  This is not a requirement, but I have found it to be a handy addition that prevents me from pushing coal off the forge and onto the ground every time I clean the fire or adjust a piece I am heating.

After years of trying to get a "round toit" - the Elektric Anvil has been re-integrated into the Celtic Knot. I have closed "ElektricAnvil.net" and am now working on adding new material to the knot.  Come back soon to see what's new at the Celtic Knot.
