Building A Bellows Fed Portable Forge
Written by Franklyn D. Garland

Several years ago, when I first posted the how-to "To Light a Fire," I received several e-mails asking for details on the design and construction of the forge used in the pictures. Over the years, I have received fairly regular requests for the same information and placed the topic on my "round tuit" list.

After years of trying to get that "round tuit," I finally took some photos as we set up for a show. It is not my intention to give you, the reader, a blue print on the construction of this forge, but to give you some ideas that you can take with you to create your own version. I am making a few assumptions while providing this description:

  1. You understand the basics of how a forge works

  2. You can assemble a crude table structure out of wood

  3. You understand how a bellows works

If, after perusing this archive, you still have some questions you can contact the webmaster for additional details. Now, lets get started!

After years of trying to get a "round toit" - the Elektric Anvil has been re-integrated into the Celtic Knot. I have closed "ElektricAnvil.net" and am now working on adding new material to the knot.  Come back soon to see what's new at the Celtic Knot.
