Forging An S-Hook

     To twist the hook, heat the center section of the bar and clamp one end securely in a vise.
     Take a moment to judge the spacing of the center section. You want the twist to be as evenly centered as possible. Carefully judging how much of the hook to clamp in the vise will help immensely.
     Keep the center section pointing straight out of the vise as pictured. If the horizontal run is too high or too low the center will try to corkscrew as it is twisted.
