After completing the point, forge a simple scroll as follows:

  1. Feed a small (approx. 1/8") section of the bar over the edge of the anvil and tap gently. This will bend the end of the bar ever so slightly and begin the scroll.

  2. Feed a little more of the bar, of approx. the same length, over the edge of the anvil and again tap gently.

  3. Repeat the process several times, feeding more of the bar and tapping gently until approx. two inches of the bar have been bent or curved into a letter "C" shape.

Never strike the bar in the same place twice.

NOTE: The bar in this photo has only had the end flattened (not pointed) in order to make the operation easier to see.

After years of trying to get a "round toit" - the Elektric Anvil has been re-integrated into the Celtic Knot. I have closed "ElektricAnvil.net" and am now working on adding new material to the knot.  Come back soon to see what's new at the Celtic Knot.
