I had to pull up a luan over plank floor as part of the kitchen remodel. That left me with, by my best mathematical estimate, over 4,000 staples to pull to prep the floor for the eventual laminate replacement. I tried every pair of pliers in my kit with no noticeable improvement. Then a friend mention a staple puller he had seen on "I Want That!", an HGTV show. What a godsend!
What I Liked: It is a simple uni-tasker tool that finds use in so many different situations that it is worth the investment. It is a modified pair of pliers with a specialized lower jaw. As you rock the pliers back to pull out the nail or staple (or whatever) they automatically tighten their grip on the offending object without forcing you to squeeze the life out of the pliers. The nails or staples came out cleanly and consistently and I did not end the day with my hand suing me for divorce. Cost: I bought my pair for about $25 from a local distributor. What I didn't like: Honestly, I have no complaints. If you ever find yourself in the position of pulling thousands of staples I highly recommend this tool! How To Get It: The company's website is: http://www.nailextractor.com , you can find listings of distributors in your area or order on-line. My Rating:
