The Celtic Knot - Audacity - Audio File Editor

Audacity is a free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. You can lay down multiple tracks, edit them, use filters, you name it. Perhaps not at the level of the famous "ProTools" - but this is a free way to get started.
