It matters not if it is audio, video or a static graphic application, anything that has a multimedia application has been lumped here from CD to MP3 rippers to photo editors. There are some EXCELLENT open source, GPL Freeware available that make me wonder why the casual to midlevel user would ever want to shell out big bucks for a commercial application.
