The Klamut Dagger

This rather exotic looking dagger was a joint project with Master Goldsmith William L. Howard of Stoughton, WI..

The knife has 768 layers of W1 and 1018 steels, with a ladder pattern along the spine. The hilt is chip carved Brazilian Rosewood, the pommel and guard are bronze, and the bolster is brass. The dragon applique' is 14kt gold and appears on both sides of the pommel. The signature pin, just in front of the guard, is also 14kt gold. The blade was made on commission and is named after it's owner.

This piece appeared in the April, 1995 edition of Knives Illustrated magazine.
